Edward Doylerush The author was born in Thingwall, Cheshire in 1929 and moved to Rhos-on-Sea at the age of ten. Educated at Cowlwyn Bay Grammar School, he joined the school Air Training Corps Squadron and his first experience of flying was a Halifax bomber. He attended the ATC gliding school at Tal-y-Cafn in Conway valley. Aside from aviation, his main interests are astromony and hill walking, writing on these with contributions to 'Country Quest.
