For photographer Daido Moriyama, Shinjuku is "this city, the scene and intersection of all my life." This book is a collection of photographs of Shinjuku, taken over a thickness of about 3.5 centimeters, and is a commemorative volume that marked the beginning of a long collaboration between the publisher Getsuyosha and Moriyama in publishing photography books. Unlike the regular edition, this limited edition was produced and sold in only 300 copies, and comes with a special case and two posters. A separate booklet includes essays recalling the 1960s with Shuji Terayama.
